Daria Callie is a contemporary artist working primarily in oils. Originally from Eastern Europe, she currently lives and maintains a full-time studio in Porto, Portugal.
Her artworks can be found in private collections in the United States, Germany, France and Japan.
Artist statement:
I’m a painter specializing in oil, with a focus on figurative and realistic styles, and I love painting portraiture.
In my work, I like to blend abstraction with the realism of the portrait. My art often explores the balance between structure and spontaneity, both in painting and in life.
What intrigues me most when painting a face are all the little expressions and features that are often subtle but can tell a whole story behind the portrait.
